Because after owning mine for 3 years and putting 30k on it it is still worth what I paid.

Of course, the Tundra is basically unchanged since 2007. Domestic trucks have added more features, power & economy. But I don't think they've matched Toyota's engineering, reliability & refinement. There's a reason people are willing to pay more for them, new and used.

When I was shopping for a truck, I couldn't believe the premium the tacos and frontiers were bringing. That's why I bought my F150. Better gas mileage, more power, better towing, more room, better ride, and better looking IMO, for the same or less money. And the incentives ford offers were way better than Toyota.

toyota, very well made vehicles, always a few years behind on features, and styling, and very solid resale value.

I know several people with them. The ride is godawful and the interior is complete crap, but they all have over 200k on them and keep on rolling. If you want a light-duty pickup for moving potting soil or paint buckets around, then they're great.

The most over rated pickup truck on the market for the money. I have no clue how people pay the prices they do on new ones, much less for a used one. Super cheap interior, no power, and full-size truck fuel economy.

The lamest excuse I always hear from Taco owners....."Yeah well it's easier to park...."

I've had no problem with any Chevy or Ford truck that I or any of my family members have owned since '97. Just fluids, brakes and tires and some have done that and are over 200k miles.

There is nothing magical about Toyota that other makes cant do.

No. The premium is for a quality truck. My dad bought a 07 tacoma in 2006, it now has 155k on it and still feels like it rolled off the lot yesterday. I can't day the same for any of the domestic vehicles I have owned over the years. Fact is the tacoma ages better than Jennifer Aniston.

I love tacos, and still went with a new F150... More power, tows more, drives/rides better, can seat 5 full grown adults in comfort, gets better MPG, and has more equipment for the $. The only benefits to the taco are better off-road performance with the smaller footprint.

The Japanese automakers are behind the domestics and koreans in nearly every part of their lineup. They are relying on having better perceived reliability, but the other automakers have long since caught them with their modern powertrains, features, and styling.

Toyota - Prius is their saving grace
Honda - Hopes those people that have always bought accords/civics never die.
Nissan - Quit putting CVTs in everything
