    example of foolishness

Maybe I should choose a different truck....

My dad bought a 2012 Taco Because he wouldn't listen to me. After driving and riding in his I would never own one. And it's not because it was a bad truck... It was nice-ish, rode decent, and relible. But it was also: bland, slow, small, and he paid a mint for it. You can get a nice full size that doesn't do much worse in MPG for similar money... Pass, all day long.

I'd be pissed if I leased a tacoma and had a payment of more than $50/month...based on depreciation numbers.

This! New ones are over rated over priced and undersized.

Oh yeah, those and the Nissan Frontier's are crazy expensive, I can't touch them at auction. I sold my 01 frontier with 96K on it for $3500 and it looked like it had been to hell and back. The paint was shot, the tires were bald, it had body damage. Didn't faze the buyer.

When I realized a new Tacoma would run about the same as a new F150 I stopped looking at them.

Not everyone wants a V8 truck, and Toyota owns that market.

But if a v8 truck gets the same mileage and can tow more then why not?

I stand by my 200k 01 tacoma still. It was worth every penny I paid for it. I never have to work on it, and it starts up every day.

                    The ride is rough though!!

There are lots of reasons, easier to drive, park, they fit in a standard garage, etc. Makes sense to me, not eveyone buys a truck to pull 10k lbs. all the time.

New full size ford will get better gas mileage. Those Tacos gas mileage sucks

I feel like the toyota 1/2 ton is behind the US trucks in almost every way at this point
