My dad bought a 2012 Taco Because he wouldn't listen to me. After driving and riding in his I would never own one. And it's not because it was a bad truck... It was nice-ish, rode decent, and relible. But it was also: bland, slow, small, and he paid a mint for it. You can get a nice full size that doesn't do much worse in MPG for similar money... Pass, all day long.

This! New ones are over rated over priced and undersized.
Oh yeah, those and the Nissan Frontier's are crazy expensive, I can't touch them at auction. I sold my 01 frontier with 96K on it for $3500 and it looked like it had been to hell and back. The paint was shot, the tires were bald, it had body damage. Didn't faze the buyer.
But if a v8 truck gets the same mileage and can tow more then why not?
There are lots of reasons, easier to drive, park, they fit in a standard garage, etc. Makes sense to me, not eveyone buys a truck to pull 10k lbs. all the time.
