It held up really well for the abuse it took.

He use to run it down at Ennis all the time before he blew the engine up.

Rod IIRC, and ventilated the block. I know it took out most of the engine and was going to cost a ridiculous amount to fix.

Apparently it didn't hold up too well. lol

For the power and abuse I will say it did ok. He let everyone and their mom drive it as hard as they wanted. He daily drove it and tracked it almost once a month and I think the motor lasted about two years. I really thought after the KB it would have died much sooner.

I know it wasn't on you choice list but I've loved the s197 GT500 since it's release. If I ever get in another mustang it's a toss up between a regular gt cuz it's the cheapest, GT500 or 13/14 gt cus they are really niiice. Just like this one.

I own a old Gt500, 07 model, and I'm not biased. At stock horsepower it sucks. It rides great and all, and I personally like the looks a lot.

I thought last year about getting a newer gt500 or a 13 GT with a auto. I said to hell with it and will eventually put a 13 blower/lower pulley/off road h pipe/tune/intake on my car and make 650 pretty damn reliable horsepower to the wheels. That is the one upside to a 11 GT500. A 13 factory blower/tune/cat removal away from almost 700 rwhp.
