If you have ever attended any Motorsport racing events. You see this almost exact situation happen on a regular basis. Just not the outcome that happened here.

Two drivers clip/tangle and or wreck and one driver gets out and approaches the other driver while he is still driving around the track. Tempers are hot, person on foot either jumps/leans or swings at the car and the driver swerves to make the person on foot think twice about approaching. Well in this case it appears they both thought the other was going to further away. Guess you could say it is a modern form of the "game", "chicken".

I dont know, Personally I wouldnt stand in a race track with fucking race cars driving on it.
I dont know though, I'm not a racecar driver.

Not saying it is true.....but it is all over the net and multiple reports by people that were at the track (with pics of sheriffs at Tonys hauler).

Plus the tracks comments say it all without saying what the outcome was. Basically you can tell they are trying to decide how to bring the news out. What to say, who is going to say what, when. It is a bad deal but attending all sorts of racing events for my entire life. I say unless Tony ran him over with the front of the car intentionally. It will be called a racing incident.

It will be a case of
"Well Tony did not know that Kevin Ward was going to be that close to his moving car. And Kevin Ward probably did not think the back of Tonys car would swing out as far as it did".

Now the big issue is going to be, how does the Kevin's parents/family handle this. Will they support Tony during this or will they end up owning him? Time will tell.

Video is on youtube. After watching it. Yes Tony hit him but I don't think it was intentional. Kevin jumped out of his car before Tony came around the next lap. Tony appears to be still moving pretty fast and there is Kevin in the track. As fast as Tonys car was going at the time I don't see it as he was aiming for a moving person.

It's dumb, but getting out of a car to protest like that happens a lot from what I've seen of dirt track. I am wondering if the kid was in his path and stewart was trying to goose the gas to steer away from him...

Hard to tell what exactly happened, but the ass end of Tonys car swerves out to the left away from the kid...not sure if he clipped him with the front and thats why it happened, or if he tried to blip the throttle to get around the kid and didn't quite make it.

Pretty sure kid out of car + non-headon collision will = "racing accident"/ "shit happens".

But the moral of the story is: (and this goes for ALL motorsports drivers who get out of their car on the track with other cars driving around) Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
