This goes back to a sales issue by a local distributor who of course was trying to sell a machine without fully understanding his needs. He is rolling several styles of cones, all of which require a certain amount of tilting of the side rolls of our rolling machine. We have another model which can do it with no issues as an out of the box machine. However, getting this one to roll this particular cone, which has an extreme difference in radii between the front and rear, requires a huge amount of tilt. The swing arms which contain the bearings on either end of the rolls did not have enough clearance to accommodate the tilt without interference from the rolls themselves.

So, that turned into alot of jumping through hoops with making custom swingarms, which were done rather quickly and expensive locally.... but then the bushings / inserts to accommodate the bearings were specd incorrectly.... and the drama started from there.

This customer was almost in tears as the panic set in about possibly losing out on millions.

Hopefully by the end of this evening he will be happy and we will be heroes.
