    Never speed in Virginia.

    This is too long for a c/p, but well worth the read. Dude gets busted for 93 in a 55... Who cares, right? I've bombed through half the states in this country at triple digits. Ends up having to spend 3 days in jail for reckless driving. He was in a ZL1, btw, not some shitbox that would fall apart at those speeds. I'm glad I read this before I got to Virginia in my 50 State Tour that I'm in the middle of, figured I'd pass it on in case any of you shitheads ever drive through there. What a crock of shit.

    You never really get a good night’s sleep in jail. In the middle of my second night inside, I woke up on the uncomfortable plastic mat in my cell, my neck and back aching. I looked down at my orange jail scrubs and up at the buzzing fluorescent light and thought, “I am here because I drove too fast in a Camaro ZL1.”

    Last year my buddy was on his way back from new england in his moderately tuned C5, cruising @ 120, through Virginia. He got a week in the pokey and year of proby.

      They'll even charge you with Reckless Driving if you don't signal properly. Well, I guess I'll never set foot in Va. At least the guy made a friend with a heroin addict!

          Don't forget they outlaw radar detectors and actively look for them with electronic means.

          And in Michigan, you can't have any windshield mounted devices such as GPS or radar.

          We learned a lot about each state's laws when we did One Lap this last year. The NE is just insane and the roads suck. Further proved in my mind even with a few of Texas' faults, it's still a great place to live!

            They also drive completely unmarked Tauruses, which I'm assuming are the TT AWD police package version. You have absolutely no idea they are behind you until the lights come on.

              Holy fuck that state sucks cock. I'm glad that I don't have any business in that state or have to drive through it for any reason.

                Meh...not sure why y'all are defending someone going that much over the limit. Obviously y'all have never been close to getting wiped out on a 55mph road when some asshole is flying.

                    Oh, I guess for someone that lives in that state and that's what the speed limits are set at (45 & 55 max limits) I guess that would make sense, but as that gut wrote in his article, when he decided to get down there wasn't another car (other than the trooper) in sight. Even the jailers were lol that he was in jail for speeding. Doesn't that just sound ridicules?

                        Lol I've only seen like 10 cops since I moved here. And I'm very well versed at spotting UC cars. I'm willing to bet its much worse near DC than where we are.

                          And it has nothing to do with "some shitbox that may fall apart".

                          It's about surroundings, road structure, speed zone studies, the ability to react...etc etc. speed differentials are what kill so having an asshole going 95 when others are going 55 is a massive safety concern. Even professional drivers have this concern on closed courses when running a multi class event.
