The odds of him actually having contracted ebola from walking into the apartment is pretty slim. Not impossible, but its more likely that any of the family that was living there would have come down with it before a dude walking in and out would have.

I'd be very cautious had I been in his shoes, and its a safe bet that the medical staff are going to treat it as a case of ebola until tests prove otherwise, as they should.

To go off your metaphor, that's my concern. Ebola has a shelf life of 6 hours-ish. So if he walked or brushed against a contaminated surface, then removed said garment improperly and did what you and I do a lot, rub our eyes or nose....there IS a possibility.

I really hope there is nothing more to report in two weeks.
