    That's pretty sad about the kids situation. And also a fucked up world we live in where you simple act of kindness could be construed for something else. Kudos to you for stepping up and showing that little girl something else other than the situation she's in.

    And am I the only one thinking you need to post pictures of the mom? You guys are slipping around here

        Good thinking! OP, start dating the mom and the little girl will be around all the time!

                Makes me sad that we live in a world where we're not only always looking over our shoulder but having to wonder about anyone who interacts with our kids. Kinda like the story of the mom arrested for letting her kid play at a park. I'm sure many of us,myself included, were outside all day in the summer and hated coming in at night.

                  Thank you. I'm glad I can reconcile the story for you now. She moved with her mother to her grandmother's about 30 minutes down the road. I see her every weekend or two. Its about as good as I could hope for, and the grandmother seems lovely as well. Thank you for reading. Everyone here with their empathy put my heart back in me when I was really down.
