August 10th is my court date! I have my Bank Receipt proving I was at the bank and sure I can get Video of me sitting in the bank. The Sgt said with him catching me 20 mins after he said he clocked me. Sgt in exact words said I would have let you go on and never bothered to pull you over and just kept a eye for your car in the future

Unfortunately that would have been the Sgts discretion to let you skate... Your hope is he actually doesn't have the radar/video proof of your alleged charge. I know quite a few departments systems are set up to specifically save 60 seconds before the lights/ sirens are activated.

Even with Video I would have been in a group of cars coming across the bridge with 3 lanes of traffic going each way

I've fought a "legitimate" speeding ticket because the officer was an egotistical jerk to me the entire time. Yes I was an 18yr old guy driving a bit to fast but he treated me like I stole the car and actually made the comment that he was writing me the ticket so that my "daddy" would know I was hot rodding his car(car was financed and insured solely in my name)...

I ended up getting out of the ticket because I found a paper trail of the officer profiling young people in sports cars and verbally abusing them during their traffic stops. That and apparently he didn't activate the Lights/sirens/cameras until after he had turned around and was pursuing me.

I did that to a cop that pulled me over in my '01 Cobra after I dumped the clutch. He walks up saying "Woooo-eeee, Mustang GT.." and I looked directly at him and said "Actually, it's a Cobra." lol, didn't get a ticket!

Ummmm no. Because profiling young people in sports cars is a number anyone keeps track of. Also I don't have to turn on my lights until I am ready to turn on my lights. I can turn them on before you pass or after I turn around and catch up to you. Makes zero difference other then you knowing whether I am coming for you or not.

The harassment part came up from complaints that had formally been filed with the police department/city managers office... I meant the activation of lights/sirens part as no video evidence. More speculation than fact but they were asked to provide their evidence and they didn't provide any other than his written statement(didn't realize that was acceptable). What suprised me is they didn't provide radar evidence either...

He had no visual on you for 20 minutes.... How can he prove it wasn't another black car speeding that he saw? Hell you were at the bank. Are you sure you didn't eat lunch by the bank too? Heck you may not have been on that bridge for over an hour....

This is a slam dunk to defend yourself. I do it every citation I receive. If you get a lawyer and they can't win this one for you, you should have them disbarred for incompetence.

You were driving 120 behind him, and you didn't overtake and pass him? How the fuck fast was he driving 130? There are so many ways you can go on this one.....

Because if he was driving the speed limit and you were driving 2X the speed limit you would overtake him really fast and he'd have rear radar, front radar and dashcam video of the pursuit. Does he have that? Obviously not.

I'd have this guy laughed out of court by the judge.

If you pursue me you better turn your lights and sirens on the second you start. Because clearly I am driving in a dangerous and unreasonable matter. If you pursue me without your lights and sirens, you are driving faster than I am and clearly you think it is a reasonable and prudent speed. And if you think it's reasonable and prudent, you have no business impeding my travel. You are in a heavier car, with shittier brakes, shittier tires, and that doesn't handle nearly as well. You are the one being unsafe. Have a nice day.

And this is why everyone that ever gets a ticket need to take it to court. The courts would be over run with needless bullshit of their own creation and would have to find legitimate means to raise funds to pay for shit the city doesn't need.

You're right, you don't have to do anything until you are ready to do it. It might be best if you did nothing and just sipped Starbucks and collected your pension.
