let's talk about tire chains on ice

the autochains are going on all EMS and fire equipment lately, and is a pretty cool design. No chain on the tire, just a fast spinning chunk of chain clearing the road right under and in front of the drive wheels.

that said working on the underside of the truck next to those things is just plain scary.

An Irving EMS came in the other day as I was walking into work. I saw some chains hanging and figured I'd warn them they were dragging something. Nope..its auto tire chains. Freaking AWESOME

Had them on the big rig never used them tho.
