Expanded metal ? Any steel yard will have it.

Home depot and Lowes sell the ones that are adjustable. But usually are for the gas style grates.

There is a bunch in your local grocery store parking lot. Cut to fit.

I'd consider expanded metal too or the adjustable ones.

ive noticed that once the grates and burners get all messed up/rotted that its usually almost cheaper to buy an entire new grill than the replacement parts.

              god bless.

No joke. I got the worst grill in this regard. I did some trading so I was only out $175 for an $800 grill, NIB. It was a badass baller choo choo grill, but iIn 2 years it needed new burners. When I went to look for some, none of the universal fits would work and the cheapest I could find the correct burners was $150 - $300! No one makes the burners. I even contacted Music City Metals and they couldn't/wouldn't/didn't make it. I have since found one I can modify but even it is $60.

I went to get some new heat shields today for mine. Went and opened the grill and the brackets that hold the heat shields in place are capput too.

Weber one touch gold is 3 years old I use it 4 times a week all year long still looks as good as new. I have Weber smokey Joe that is at least 8 years old I use 1 or 2 times a month and used to cook on it every day before I got the bigger one. All are in perfect shape.
