Found some decent places in Haslet, but the budget will get blown. Arlington appears affordable as well, but there is a pretty serious lack of decent houses there as of today, same with Benbrook.

I've spent most of my life in Arlington, so if you're looking around, I'll be glad to share any info or give honest opinions on certain areas you may have questions about.

Sean when we were talking about my preferred zips in Arlington I wasn't really taking into account what schools your kids would go to. Corey Elementary, Boles Jr High, and Martin HS were getting top marks when I was going through the school system, but that was also a long time ago. I can't remember the age of your kids, but I'm sure Martin is still tops in town, as it is situated just down the street from the Lake and that's where all the money is(76016, 76017).
Even so, there is plenty of affordable housing in those zips. As I was saying in texts my old house was in 76016, and I was only about a mile from Martin. I know my property taxes are hella cheaper since I live near Lamar HS now. lol

I'll echo the 'stay north' comments about Watauga, and add that it means 'stay north of Hightower/Basswood.'
I live just south of that line, but if I was looking to live in the area, I'd stay north.
Give me a call if you are in the area. When the government pays, the government controls.
