I work 3 12s . Sat-Mon. 6am-6:30pm. I usually come home and have enough energy to watch some tv, eat and shower. Also play with the kiddo. But having 4 days off in a row every week is awesome.
I did 12's for about a year, but I was young enough that it never really bothered me.

I was doing 12's 6-7 days a week for about 6-8 months and still hit the gym 5 days a week, but man...it sure was a beat down on the mind and body. I used to fall asleep at stop signs and lights all the time. Even fell asleep out in the gym parking lot one time and woke up thinking it was time to go back to work, lol

I have been doing 10-12 hour days 6 days a week for about 6 years now. I got use to it and now feel weird when I am not at work. Use to work at SNL Performance and was there past closing most nights and worked in the oilfield which 12 hour shifts are very common.

Personally I am tired of working at all! Wife asked me this morning if I wanted to stay at home and be her B@#@#. One day I may take her up on that offer.
I've worked 12 hour shifts, 3 or 4 days a week for ten years now. I like having 3 or 4 days off every week, could never go back to 8-5 job unless I had too. You get use to the long work hours and just look forward to your days off.

While I do envy your time off and we do offer those scheduals at my work I feel I would just be out spending money rather then saving so I can actually retire at a decent age.
I work variable hours. Sometimes its 8, most of the time its 9-10 hours a day, some days its 16-18 hours. I dig the work and the pace is managable, but there is times in the day i just want to eat lunch. They are working on giving us a lot more flexibility to work from home more often without needing any permission, which helps you handle all the little chores you struggle with working M-F 9-5.
It's "supposed" to be a M-F 9-5 gig. Our coworkers in toronto get lieu time any thing over 40 hours. Lucky bastards.
