Well your comparing a ford to a Chevy. You'll pay more for a better vehicle. 135k on my 5.3 been a good truck

I just picked up a 2009 Yukon Denali with 66k on it for right at 20..We looked around for a couple months however..Drove to Houston to pick it up but I think we got a good deal. The dealership we got it from had a couple Tahoes around the same price if you want the dealership name..

I've owned an 07 Expedition EL Limited. When we decided to get an SUV, we looked at the Expy (not EL) and Tahoe. Ultimately, we went with the Expy EL. If you intend to travel with luggage and will have people using all 3 rows, you'll want the extra space. If you'll only be filling 2 rows, you'll still want the extra space because the 3rd row lays flat. Which also comes in handy if you occasionally haul stuff. You'd have to physically remove, and store, the 3rd seat in the Tahoe. That was a deal killer for the wife.

Now I drive an 07 GMC Sierra (still not a Tahoe, I know) but between the two, if I were in the market again, I'd prefer a Tahoe or Yukon. The leather in the Expy felt cheap and didn't even have that leather smell really. Although, I've already lost 3 door speakers in the GMC

Well I actually talked her into a suburban. I like having spacing. But knowing my luck I'll just need to buy a fuckin school bus!

The electric 3rd row seating on our EL was what sold the wife. I got tired of having to pull out the 3rd row on our last SUV and was cool with it. The EL has a ton of room with the 3rd row down. I can't even reach all the way in, I have to crawl in if i needed to get something all the way near the 2nd row.,

I'm with Eric. An 06+ Explorer is just fine with 3 rows. With three adults and three kids, it was no problem. Resale might actually be better than a Taco since you can scoop up a nice one with low mileage already on the cheap.

My 2006 was hands-down the best family vehicle we've ever had. They got a bad rap because earlier models were crap.

Mine had 3rd row also, although I only used it once. Was kind of entertaining closing the power seat on my sister while she was trying to climb out of it. Explorers are modern day wagons. Just a good all purpose vehicle.

Jeff, are you guys planning on doing any traveling with this thing? If you are, the Suburban or an Expy make sense, but if you're just going to tool around town something smaller would be fine(and more maneuverable).

+1 for Expedition EL over Suburban.

There's two other options you haven't mentioned yet to avoid needing a bus... Either learn where babies come from or get a vasectomy, I went with the 2nd option and it's the best choice I've EVER made.

Yeah, Jeff. Why didn't you get a damn vasectomy!!

I couldn't let this gem get overlooked.

And why does she have any say in what YOU drive? Good god man, regain your testicles.

                                Glad someone caught it!

And I'm the one that would rather have a suburban than a Tahoe. Yeah I want a truck but I want a diesel and not a gasser. I've talked to cooter for a while and he helped talk me into doing a Tahoe.

We do plan on taking trips so that's another reason why I would like to get one.
