No offense, but I think the mindset you presented is more to fault than the one you're lampooning. Every halfway decent person fears repercussions that may or may not happen, so they do nothing. That leaves the truly decent, and the oblivious, which does nothing to improve the species.

Just so you know.... last year when we got 12" of snow i pulled out many people around our house with our tractor. I never accepted a penny. Also drove to pick up an ederly person and took him to his sons house when his electricity went out.

I also carry a tow strap in my 4x4 truck at all time.

Somebody already mentioned that the rock crawler would probably get fined for pulling those people out.

Just imagine the lawsuit that might happen if you are helping someone and something goes wrong... the strap breaks, messes up their bumper or something.

I'd risk it to help someone. If some jackwad asked for my insurance though after I helped pull them out of a ditch and damaged their bumper I might accidentally "slide" into them a few times as I was trying to leave.

That is what I did today. Handed him the strap and waited for him to tell me when to go.

That's what I do, although I usually tell them where to wrap it and what could happen. Normally won't do a recovery if I think I'll do any damage aside from minor paint scuffs, unless they insist...it's their call.
