The commercialisation of Christmas has started way too early IMO. Right after Thanksgiving is perfect. After Halloween is WAY too soon.

I love Christmas music. It's idealistic, optimistic, and nostalgic. Therefore, I consider it a form of escapism entertainment. Kind of like watching reruns of Gilligan's Island. Suspension of disbelief is the key.
