We use to have our popcorn Fridays then one day a admin who wasn't paying attention burned her hand dumping the popcorn kettle so because she didn't pay attention or use PPE they just order huge bags of stale as shit gross popcorn and dish it out. At first they tried to hide it by tossing it in the popcorn machine to warm it up now they don't even give a shit just scoop it and drop it in bags left on a table.
We pay for coffee out of vending machines till they installed keurigs all over the buildings but who knows if they are cleaned/maintained so we can't have free coffee or fresh popcorn but they buy the lunches for all the management teams almost daily and leave it in the hall for everyone to see.

We have beer-cart Fridays. For some reason though, lately they've just been leaving it in the fridge. It's still a nice social excursion though, especially since it's summertime and we have interns. Or a free soda for the teatotalers.
Really it's a bunch of sucky 'perks' for being an office dweller, but you gotta look at the bright side.Last edited by 46Tbird; 05-08-2018, 08:29 AM.When the government pays, the government controls.

Politicians hiring friends is what it all boils down to. The laziest, incompetent, awful human beings are those people and the tax payer foots the bill on their salary. Hundreds of thousands of dollars wasted.

My company did the same thing, our one office (200~ employees) were spending $35,000 on coffee. We didn't get an admin though, we actually RIF'd people.
I understand the company profit vs different orgs and the amount of revenue they generate. My company posts large profits most of the time but my org specifically of 20,000 people is definitely not the bread and butter of the company, so we pay.
We pay to the point I for the first time in nearly 8 years have started looking elsewhere.

I like the company 737 best. You can stretch out and really get some thinking done.
