Welcome to every company on the fucking planet. You really think it's different at other places?

I've worked in advertising agencies for about half my career. They hire college grads and give them VP titles so "they have some leverage with their client." Very funny, especially when you see a 23yr old douchebag strut his shit around the halls after leasing his first C-class Benz.

yes let's talk lean and efficiency. Now instead of going to the break room to get coffee, or the downstairs "c-store" they put in to charge you for coffee. People are leaving the office and driving to somewhere cheaper to buy coffee on their breaks.

So instead of 2-3 min stroll to the break room for coffee and back to their desk, where a couple of people might chat for 20-30% productivity, it's now become 15 minutes or more of zero productivity while they go offsite.

may favorite was when Senior leadership on a call asked the group of other leaders for cost cutting ideas, way after the coffee, plasticware were gone, and the whole group replied with... Maybe if you Sr. Directors and above flew coach instead of 1st class on your trips we could save a ton.

Sr. Leadership got pretty quiet, and said, "let's move on to other ideas".

LMAO. Made me walk over to the cereal bar and take some pics. I prefer black coffee so I usually just walk over to our Keurig or Tassimo machines in the Creative area.

What kills me about all this is the absolute beating it takes to get anything resolved. I've been working on an issue for two years. One single problem. I've got hundreds of hours invested. Thousands of conference calls. I finally threw my hands up, told Corporate "fuck it, ill do it my goddamn self"; and spent all morning doing manual labor myself to get it done. Everyone is so fucking afraid to grow a pair and make a decision these days.

that's about 80% of it right there in a nutshell, everyone wants to talk about it, no one wants to put on their big boy pants and do it.

I get called in for stuff like this all of the time, meetings with 30 people, where one email/phone call to the right person, and we'd have been done months ago.

Health Dept would nail their ass for not maintaining safe temps on those aluminum food pans. I wouldn't eat that shit if I were you, lol.

And that's exactly he type of issue that keeps employers from going out in a limb. One false step and you are fined or sued.
