It would just be assault. Not assaulting an officer.

Not in NYC. The body of an officer is holy ground up there.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

Even if they are in plain clothes and haven't identified themselves? That is retarded.

You can beat the rap but not the ride. You are going to be charged and could get it reduced if you are DAMN lucky. It is a tough town that caters to about 60,000 wealthy residents that are the people who pay for everything. Everyone else just lives there and the cops are rough to keep them in line.

              Yes, punish the taxpayer.
              Makes total sense.

The article specifically states this is after he left the NYPD shooting range...so I would say it's likely he was using department gear. Nothing states it was concealed..

Always ask the judge for deferred adjudication . Never know what they will let you off with.

No, punish the officer. Bankrupt him first, then go up his chain of command and bankrupt them each and every one of them. Make them sell the APC's and full auto weapons, return them to Crown Vics and foot patrols.

That's the only part that is reasonable.

The rest is your normal over the top, way beyond reason response.

No, protecting servants more than those who employ them is beyond reasonable. Telling a citizenry that if you shoot THEIR dog, you got to prison for years but if they shoot yours, it sucks to be you is unreasonable. When you accidentally shoot someone, you're going to jail, if they do it, it's paid time off. THAT is beyond reason.
