Let us know how the insurance claim goes.

My firearms are not specifically listed on my homeowner's insurance. Did you list your firearms?

That sucks dude! I fucking hate thieves with a passion!

I keep records of what I have, but that's something I like about my homeowner policy, I don't have to have a schedule or anything with everything listed, there is no special rider for extra coverage, and no limit for those specific items. Don't have to keep updating it every time I buy, sell, or trade. All covered under my main policy with same maximum as my policy.
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

Damn that blows. No one heard that, or saw anything? Do they have cameras around the property to look for anything suspicious? Best of luck to you.

I do have renters insurance, and there is no need to list specific items, only total dollar value.

The officer that came out (very good guy, btw) talked to all of the neighbors that he was able to. I didn't hear the results of that, but I'm guessing nobody did. They also tried to get into the apartment below me. The complex doesn't have any cameras, and up until now, hasn't needed them. The utter lack of any crime in or near this complex was one of the main reasons I moved here.

That's terrible, your insurance is going to ask for a police report and in that report are going to be all of your weapons stolen. This just sucks and I hate theives.

If anyone in here is a firearm collector I highly suggest collectors insurance. Very cheap, and very encompassing. I use http://www.historicfirearms.com/

Well, all of the ones stolen, but not all of the ones I have. I do not keep all of my eggs in one basket.

The thought had crossed my mind, but my integrity (and any possible raising of my premiums) just force me to be honest.

I caught a burglar at my house in East Ft Worth in April. We had a nice chase. In the end it was my trusty .380 that got my damn weed wacker back. The cops caught him, and after a visit to the interrogation room I was cleared for the warning shot I gave him over his shoulder.

His name Charles Ray Mills. He was an older guy, but he could run!

Here are pics of the guns that were stolen. They also got a Canon SX50HS camera, 10 various BluRay discs, and a Swiss Army backpack.
I have the serial numbers for the first two, but not for the Taurus.

Update: Still no word on any of the stolen items. I received a check for full value of everything (minus the $500 deductible) yesterday, so that's nice.

I'm really surprised they paid out on them. What was their max for guns? Usually it's around 5k. I'm glad to hear they took care of you.

On my policy, the default coverage is $2500, but can be increased in $2500 increments. The main one I was worried about was the AR pistol, but they reimbursed me to the penny even on that one ($987.01).
