For liability reasons they can not fix the frame and guarantee that the next accident will have the same protection the factory provided.

The body shop manager is working a price to buy the truck from me as is no repair. Since he as an individual can repair it himself and it will not affect the Carfax or the resale. If his number is not right I am going to bring the truck back home and make the repair myself when I get home for good.

Even with a new frame under the truck I will not authorize the repair for the sake of saving the vehicles resale.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

sounds like you got it handled, did you have them stop all the repairs?

I have elected to NOT fix the vehicle and sell as is.

Here is a run down on the vehicle if you want to make me an offer.

2002 F150 Supercrew Lariat FX4 5.4L auto, 113,000miles, Loaded the only thing I can think it DOESN'T have is a sunroof or DVD player. The interior is 100% factory and I can rate it at a 8/10. The Grey leather seats are in excellent condition and look as if the truck only has 30,000 miles. Light dimming rearview mirror, overhead console for remotes and sunglasses, voice recorder driver's sunvisor, center console with 6disc changer inside. 4wheel works, everything works.

The truck has a Truxedo tonneau (3yrs 0ld) cover and sprayed in bed liner and brand new BFG all terrain tires (less than 3,000 miles). Sounds great with a Gibson dual exhaust. I have two sets of keys and remotes plus the code to the keyless entry pad on the door.

I have owned the truck since March 2008 and have put only a hair over 13,000 miles on it in the 3 years I have owned it.

The bad, it will have a dented bumper laying in the bed of the truck. The driver's tow hook is apparently 100x stronger than the frame it mounts to. The hook shows no signs of damage but the portion of the frame it bolts too is pushed up at an angle. It does not change the alignment of the bumper and hell without the hook and with a new (or used) bumper you would never know.

The bodyshop made me an offer but I am not even going to entertain at all. Search the same truck on Ebay or local dealers etc. and see how much it is worth. If you want to make me an offer feel free.

        Thanks
        -Keith

I don't want to lowball you. Can you PM me what you want for it out right? Will it retain the "clean title" or is going to require a salvage title?

Never wrecked until the damage it has now, needs a front bumper (maybe). See the pics on the first page.

I can give you the VIN if you want to run a carfax.

Title remains clean until/unless the truck gets totaled by the insurance company - and the claim is initiated and settled/paid.

I've ridden in the truck and it's a very nice truck.

                      Thanks David.

Yes still a clean title. We are having the bumper put back on and the truck brought back to my house. I really think a bumer and lower trim will bring it back without too much pulling. If no one wants it I am going to keep it and enjoy the fact that it is paid off.

Here is what it looked like with the bumper off. All the damage was the hook mounting portion.

Just doesn't look that bad to me.
I wouldn't think twice about fixing/driving that again.
