You're partially right, but I've combated my weight all my life. The skinny little fucker you all knew in 2004 was the result of 2 years straight of dieting and dropping 69 pounds. I dropped 72 pounds Junior/Senior year in HS and was 6'3/ 178 when I decided I didn't need to lose any more.
As I've gotten older the less I've given a shit about how I look, but in the last year it has turned into a health issue, that I'm sporadically trying to rectify. I eat fairly healthy most of the time and rarely drink any more(I lost that 69 pounds while I was in the middle of earning my plate at the Saucer. God being young was fucking awesome). Exercise is what I really need, and if I keep having the results I've had so far with the hot tub, hopefully you guys will see me lose about a third of myself over the next couple of years.

If it weren't for spending all my money on the girls as mentioned above, I'd have an old man tub too.

Since we're talking about "wealth" or were a couple of pages ago, I want to zero in on your last statement. To me, being wealthy is having a nice life. It has nothing to do with money, although if you don't have much it can certainly make it harder. Having money is nice, but quality of life comes from taking care of yourself, and relaxing, and sometimes you have to splurge.
I can't even count how many Doctors I've seen over the last 12 years, I literally filled up an entire sheet of notebook paper with their contact info when dealing with the disability company early this year(who approved me on the first submission, which from what I understand never happens). I dropped a small fortune getting my backyard set up properly for that tub, and now that I'm using it every day, I just can't even describe what a difference it is making.
It hasn't solved everything by any means, but it feels like the clock has started to roll back a couple of years. Of course I've had early luck with some other treatments that haven't ended up working out in the long run, but something is telling me this time it is going to be different. I've had muscles deep in my neck just randomly CRUNCH. It's been kind of disgusting frankly, but it is working. I slept for 5 hours last night and practically jumped out of bed at 5 am, ready to go, and wanted to go walking. It used to take me 10 minutes just to make assessments and plans on swinging my legs out, then hobbling to the bathroom to get up in the morning. This is after only 3 days of use.
I know that wreck fucked up your leg pretty badly a few years back, in addition to your back now giving you problems. If you think it will help you, spend the money to increase your quality of life by repairing your body. It effects your moods, your thoughts, everything when you've got an injury. Hell, go sit in one at a public pool or something first and see if it makes a difference. Backs don't ever get better, but you can mitigate things and then it will flow over into every other aspect of your life. Trust me, I've got a damn PhD in this shit. Even better if you can find a therapy tub in your area. The brand name of mine is Dr. Wellness, model X6.
You owe it to yourself to combat your body hurting, and I'm making this post for everyones benefit as all us bitter fucks move into middle age and our 20's finally catch up with us. I don't know anything about having kids, but having a body that is in poor shape or constantly giving you problems will exponentially decrease your quality of life.

PS - I agree with what Tali is saying and decided quite a few years ago that I will spend my money wisely(as in my health, nutrition, and exercise) and somewhat consider it an investment.
As for the returns, you see them daily and hope one day it will pay off with the lack of some major illnesses that others might have to endure.
You either pay now, or pay later...your choice.Last edited by stangin4lyfe; 07-01-2014, 02:01 PM.

On the same note as talisman's (I didn't want to quote the novel). I herniated a disc in my lower back several years ago. Many of you probably remember the threads. After non invasive treatments quit working, I decided to go under the knife. They found out when they went in that the disc had ruptured and that was causing the increased pain that they couldn't get under control.
I was a power lifter in high school, and never had any health problems. It was a HUGE blow to my psyche to all of a sudden not be able to perform every day tasks without pain. I had surgery 2 years ago this August and it has been the single most important thing I did in the last decade to improve my quality of life. I am not back to my pre injury self, however, I am living a much healthier, happier life than I would be had I not had surgery. I rode my first bike tour last year with my Dad, a very special moment. I have remodeled the house we just bought, and I can overall function and do the things I need/want to without help or sometimes debilitating pain.
I agree 100% that wealth is irectly related to quality of life and deserves a seat at the table when it is discussed!Originally posted by LeahBest balls I've had in my mouth in a while.

So ... Nobody's wealthy?Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

As measured by the bank roll I'm a broke-dick, but we're rich in spirit, as us poor people say.

All your friends are married with kids, suddenly you're not constantly meeting new people all the time, which starts drying up prospects. Not even getting into the fact that most of the single women my age are batshit nuts and fake as hell. It can be comical watching them think you're not having alarm bells and tornado sirens going off inside your head after their every sentence sometimes, but it can also be highly irritating to waste the time.
