I would like to hear the stories for those who have escaped out of the rat race, what did you invest in, stocks, businesses, real estate, etc. Care to share your story? I, like the high majority of Americans, have been putting too much money in the liability column and I would like to shift it to the asset column.
    I haven't been employed since 04

I am pretty sure I'll always be working on getting a little further ahead than I am. Even if I had enough to just live off passive income, I'd still want to work a steady hustle. Not necessarily a square job, but I wouldn't rule out having one even if I didn't have to. I just love working.

That's why you work until you have enough for a hobby you love that the wife wants nothing to do with. LOL

It depends on how you define being wealthy. I have paid for properties that generate income but I'd go stark raving mad without my day job.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

Yes, could ditch the 9to5 but still enjoy being in the game. General advice is to spend less money than you make, buy a rental property every year or two and get someone else (renter) to pay for your appreciating asset. Kind of a drag uncloging toilets and dealing with general tenant issues but in the long run you can build some $$.
