Need help with Homeowners Association

Sure, your home is an INVESTMENT, which means you can lose money, but you shouldn't be able to tell other people what to do with their investment solely because you don't like it, or someone else may not like it.

I am on an HOA board of directors but we all get along and have the neighborhoods best interest in mind. We always have a problem getting people involved to help out with running the community and events but they sure as hell come out and use things. I guess that's just how America is.
Anyway if there is a large group of people wanting to get a new regulation established most HOA's only require the board be present to establish a quorum. If something comes up for a vote go to your neighbors and get them to give you permission to act on their behalf as a proxy. basically you get their vote to cast as you please. If you do this with enough people you can get whatever you want approved. It needs to be in writing though a verbal commitment doesn't hold any water.

The problem with HOAs is that the people in charge, are the people with control issues and inferiority complexes.
