Being charged by the vehicle (and also the one used to commit felony theft of your property, at that) can be easily seen as being attacked with a deadly weapon. Per the Texas laws.

I don't have enough faith in the justice system to think chasing someone perhaps well far away from where the crime was committed, shooting/killing person and then being cleared. If on my property that'd be one thing, but in this scenario, with video of the chase and then killing them, I don't think I could shoot them.

I'm not in any way justifying the end result. I would have no part in using my daughter as the chase driver while I videoed that mess. No way I would even consider putting her in harms way. It was dumb all around.
