Folks I wish I was home this weekend because this is a must see. Sebastian Junger is the same producer that brought you Restrepo. At the time, you could not have got a better feel for what our troops experience unless you had actually been in Afghanistan. Restrepo was a great documentary that put it all out there for you to see....good, bad and down right gut wrenching.

Korengal is slated to pick up where Restrepo left off.

Go see this. If I was home this would be at the top of my things to do on June 20th or 21st.

    Dallas & Plano!
    Be There! Starting June 20
    at the Angelika Film Centers
    Don't miss our Q&A's

I've been following it. It looks like it should be every bit as good as Restrepo.
Sucks that you won't be back in time to see it. We could have gone on another movie date. Lol

Restrepo didn't do anything but piss me off.

I liked it, it did aggravate me though when they abandoned it. Just plays into the whole "don't start a war unless you're going to finish it" perspective.

Fucking politicians are to blame for all of it, that is what irks me the most.

Another interesting documentary which is worth the watch is Armadillo.

Just added it to my list. I was watching Inside Combat Rescue or something last night and that was rather good too. Just so happened to be shot in the same area and around the same time that Michael was there. Some of the IED attacks made my heart stop.

Inside Combat Rescue was pretty intense but gave great insight to what the PJ's do overall. The most recent 2 hour special they showed called Inside Combat Rescue: The Last Stand was pretty good.

Went to the 7:30 Plano showing, there was maybe 12 people in the theater. one of the q&a guys didnt show up and the other guy didnt even serve in the Korengal valley.

The film itself isnt as good as Restrpo, and seemed to be the segments that they cut out of Restrpo.

That sucks. When Scott and I went to Restrepo, that place was sold out and full of people that didn't fit the mold for who I thought would be interested in seeing it. Shocked for the good I guess. Sucks that Korengal was not as good.

Restrepo was fantastic, korengal not so much. Went yesterday afternoon and as stated above, seems like it was just scenes that didn't make the first movie
