When I was working in Dallas, a few of us all put in $500 into Scottrade accounts just to see who would come out best. The guy that lost his money first just pulled up a "market movers" chart and bout random cheap stocks off of that. LMAO!

I would love to here some real stories on true success from a random person jumping in.

Oh, and like Dave said... no Scottrade and penny stocks! LOL I guess he is one of the ones that didn't read the fine print too. Those fees will get ya.

<---Never bought a stock under $1 (but never needed to either).

And honestly, I'm almost completely out of the stock market, as good of a time to jump in right now as it is. It is just completely out of my thought process now. I made some good moves with F and AIG, but I didn't have patient money and sold at a good profit, yet could have made more. I've had a few hits and misses, but in order to do what I'd really like to do, I'd need a lot of money in there- something I really don't want to commit to right now. I think I need more faith in the dollar's future in order for me to sacrifice dollars in order to make more dollars.
Yeah, but you could convert those dollars into more ammo, guns, bullion, and farmland.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Thanks Dr. I had a buddy actually talk to me today and he mentioned 10 or 15 that looked pretty good. CLDA was one of them. He bought some right around the new year he said for around 15 a share. I'd say he did ok. He did mention he is selling some time this week as he is under the impression its about to level out and he is more of a risk taker and he is going another direction.

Any idea what broker to use for my trades?

Right. I'd love to hear what's going on in Jody's mind about a lot of things in the market; more specific that we see here, but I understand that he has professional obligations to uphold, so he just has to facepalm himself when people like me start in on the market. It's gotta kill him.

I have never traded penny stocks...or played penny slots. I am a high risk/reward kind of guy.

I mainly use E*Trade...and I will likely sell CLDA soon.

You missed my posts on the old site about a lot of thoughts. Not investment recommendations specifically (can't do that), but what I learned/thought while working side by side with some of the most respected Financial Economists in the country. Main gist is that even if you have a strong thought that something MIGHT happen, you don't know it for sure. You certainly cannot judge a time frame with any kind of statistical accuracy.

I brought them up because a buddy of mine who is very active in the market put them in my ear. I am still in research phase and doing my homework but thought I'd ask and see if anyone on here had some tips for me. This is disposable money to me but would rather have a fighting chance to make a nice return rather than flush it. I will more than likely spend a month or so reading up and watching some trends before I jump in.

This is true, but I don't see the bullion move coming like it was last year. I was picking up mad quantities when silver was below $20, but now, I just pick away on solid dips. I'm still bullish on PMs, but it's not going to be like 2010.

Ammo... you just have no idea LOL!!!

As for land, well, I'm still not sold on a bottom yet and interest rates don't factor for me since I'm not looking to borrow. I was ready to pull the trigger a while back on a killer deal, but the deal was a little too good and someone beat me to it.

It's discretionary money to you. Any dollars you see in your paycheck after taxes are "disposable".

I'm stuck in the middle of San Fran with a 12 gauge and 4 boxes of buckshot. At least very few people here own a firearm, so maybe I could cut out early.

Noticed that after I hit submit. Been a long day I've been up since 5 a.m. with my son and its midnight now. (I'm in Florida)

Gotta say though the more I pay attention the more I realize we do have some pretty smart people on here. Where is our financial forum damn it?

Oh bro... you need to check out some of these PM gurus that I see trying to break down graphs and getting all Fibonacci on me. LMFAO!!!

Bitch, that's the most retarded head and shoulders I've ever seen. Shrek looks better than that!

I'd also say this. I get paid a lot of money to be an objective analyst. Whenever something seems blatantly obvious to me, rather than say, "what the fuck is wrong with everyone?" I think, "what could I possibly be missing and need to investigate further?"
