Aah, well, my rear and ex-cab windows are darker, and I had it done 12 years ago.

My house does pretty well on electric bills, but I still had solar screens put in and keep most of the blinds closed during the day to keep it dark and cave like inside. As Jared said, I also like the privacy in the car, and I also think dark tint makes a car look better from the outside, so it's pretty much all positives as far as I'm concerned.
I know that my eyes got a lot more light sensitive after I had lasik. Since then (2005) it is borderline painful to be outside in bright sun without sunglasses. Before the surgery I almost never wore sunglasses.

I like the factory tint level on the rear windows of the Suburban but wouldn't mind the front windows to be a bit darker. I believe they are at 35% now. I have a number of nicks in the drivers side from whipping my seat belt off too fast, so I may just pull the tint off the fronts and have it redone at 30%.

Was there already factory tint on those? They may have just layed the 5% over it, causing it to be darker than the 5% alone.

I had the same sensibilities even before Lasik, but I'm sure it might have made a slight change for the worse also.

Black interior FTW. The tint doesn't need to be so dark to "look good" and being caged in black seats and headliner makes it feel slightly claustrophobic.

I don't recall, to be honest.

I got ticketed in Arlington in 2000 or so. 1991 coupe with limo front and back. Cop busted a uturn in bumper to bumper traffic to pull me over. Came up as 4%. Got that ticket and one for not having a sticker on it showing who put it on. I didn't know the last part was legit.

ol lady and I were driving around in her car when a two wheeled pig pulled us over to put a meter on her window. Checked it, and told me it was legal. Then he rolled off to ruin someone elses day.

I've got black interior, and should have gone with tan.

Sorry about that. That was the first thing I did to that car.

I had limo on the front windows and 2% on the back windshield (reg cab truck) and never got hassled about it.

Although I will say it was a PIA to do anything at night and was constantly rolling my windows down to be able to see.

My Trans Am had 15% up front and the rest were limo and never got bothered in that car either.

Limo all around on the ranger and I've never had an issue, except in the country at night. Can't see shit then.

Car looks awesome, man. I hated those wheels at first, but they've grown on me.
