Does getting pulled over being slightly dark count?

About 8 years ago I was popped by a Trooper for 5%. This was on 35W in Denton County. I do have to say that it was to dark for some roads at night. I had to roll down my windows to see if it was clear.

Personally I think tint laws are fucking stupid....

I need to get with my optometrist to see about getting an exemption.
          5% = limo.

Only if they let you go after you rolled down the window and realized you weren't that dark!

Oddly enough, I just got pulled over on Friday in Faginaw by a cop that was in front of me pulling out of the gas station. The fag pulled me over for no front license plate and 2% tint. Good news is the dumbass wrote the wrong code for the plate and put the one for no license plate light. $10 and proof it works and dismissed.

Two if the most useless laws on the roads, if you ask me. Rookie had a rookie female officer with him and I guess he wanted to show her what a "true" law enforcement officer does and how tough his job is.

Stopped in Arizona and Virginia on separate occasions in 2001/2002. Had 5% on my ranger. I got warnings both times. I just have 25% on my cars now.

I think it is a safety thing, honestly. First, cops like to be able to see you in the car while they're walking up to the window, nobody wants to walk up to the business end of a bang stick. Also, nobody can tell me they can safely back up in a dark parking lot with 5% and the windows rolled up. You can't see shit unless you've got a fucking flood light for reverse lights. Like I said, if you're in the 15%-20% tint range on the front two you'll more then likely never get harrassed, unless you're in a cop magnet.

I got ticketed in my foxbody when I lived in California but it does have 5%. Luckily I knew an officer so she signed off on it.

It's not a safety thing for backing up when there is no limit to how dark the back window can be.

I do believe they do it for cops to be able to see in.

A rear view camera helps a lot when backing up with dark windows.

                        Agreed.

I bought the car with the tint on and would not install anything that dark (2%) either.

I got stopped by dps when I had my 04 dodge. I was not as dark as limo, but pretty close. I pulled the ginger card and said I had a prescription for it, due to sensitive eyes and fair skin. That redneck fuck looked at me like I was speaking without and accent and said "do what?"

I started rifling through every piece of paper I had in the console when he finally told me to forget it and hit the road. I'll work to repeal this law at some point.

I got popped back in 02' in Arlington for double limo on my 2002 Z28. It read 3% according to the motorcycle jockey that put his meter on my window after seeing it from the sidewalk he was parked on watching cars at the intersection. Told me I would have to remove it and pay a fine. I paid the fine and left the tint

I used to always run at least 20% on the fronts until the inspection nazis dropped the hammer around here and no would pass them anymore. Never got a ticket, I did get a warning, but that was in the vette and it was 10%.

He started to write the ticket, but I mentioned the warning from 45 minutes ago. He then told me to wait a minute, went back to his car, and came back with tint meter (light sensor that hangs over the window). I failed by 4%, and got a $200 ticket. When I called to pay the ticket the receptionist said that particular officer had a reputation for being a tool.

Fun Stuff.. I forget what county it was in but I was pulled over twice and arrested once in Olney on my way back to Lubbock from DFW. It's a loooooonng story but the arrest was related to the first time I was pulled over. I hate Olney.
