Got popped with a $175 ticket in Coppell a few years back in my Explorer. I had limo (5%) up front and double limo on the sides and back. It's only the front ones that matter. I no longer have a "friendly" inspection place to go to, so I eventually stripped the front two.

The F250 and the 4Runner have 30% up front (which actually let's in about 25% on a meter), limo on the sides and back, and whatever is legal now on the windshield (very, very light). They just recently changed the laws to allow tint on the windshield, so we took advantage. Still gets balls hot in the sun, but I think it's a little better.

A buddy had an '04 Cobra in Gainesville with 2%, and the cop made him tear it off on the side of the road. He only did it to avoid the ticket he was about to get, and it's a small shitbox town.

Tint on my truck is 7%. Only issue I've ever had on this, and 5 other vehicles, is the inspection.

I hear Allen PD is the only ones in Collin co that carry meters but could be wrong. I'll rip it off onsite and get it redone if need be. My guy charged $50 to redo the fronts same day. Also told me to call him next time for an inspection....

Been rolling with limo for 2 years never hassled. Been pulled over twice no comments on it but I do roll down the windows when they walked up.

Driving around with limo would have me too anxious. I like seeing what's around me.

Had 5% all around. Nothing on front window though. I always rolled my windows down when I was pulled over. May have helped because I had Arkansas plates at the time. He only hassled me because I had a license plate cover.

Seeing out isn't bad at all during the day, but can be a little sketchy at night. With double limo in my Explorer (over already tinted glass), you can barely see out even during the day. It's like a cave. I would never go that dark on the front two windows.

When I got my ticket, the Coppell cop was going the opposite direction across a huge median, so he was about 30-40 yards from me. He busted a U-turn and pulled me over specifically for the tint.

Never been questioned, but both our cars have what I assume is factory or dealership tint; both were bougbt used.

What exactly is legal in Texas, anyways?

25% on the front two windows. That means it has to allow 25% of light, but typically even "clear" windows will bring it down another percent or two, so it's smart to get 30% film.

Windshield tint has to be non-reflective. Almost clear, can block UV, but very little light. The little meters they use can't get on the front. You can tell mine is tinted only if you look around the stickers. I expect to have to show paperwork when I get it inspected, proving it's legal.

The rest can be painted black if you want, as long as you have side mirrors.

I've never not had 5% all around. Most wind shields tinted in 50 or 35. One ticket, week before I graduated from college in the little town I went to school in. I got a little heated with him. He must've had a ticket quota, I called him on it. Four years in that town illegal tint all four. I roll both fronts down now. I almost got one last year at a DUI checkpoint, asshole comes to passenger window, I roll it down, I got lucky and a trooper I know came over to bs with me right after he asked about tint.

Two stereo tickets, noise violations, both with illegal tint.

I just hate people looking at me in traffic, that's why I like tint. It allows me to be a hermit whilst moving.

I did back when I had my fox. Rowlett cop said it was 15%, I think he saw a hot 5.0 and took chase. I even has the cut outs open...

I see it pretty frequently in Denton County. Seems a bulk are the 35W side of things.

My truck is limo on the ex cab and rear, 5% on the doors, never pulled over for it.

Personally I think tint laws are fucking stupid....

I need to get with my optometrist to see about getting an exemption.
