  • 2300 miles in 4.5 days

With 3 women in the car is pure torture.

Stephenville TX to Watertown New York, dropped off the kids truck, although he won't be back from Afghanistan until the 16th now. Then to NYC and back to Syracuse to fly home. Had to double back for the return flight because with my kids delay I changed up seeing some sights in different order to be able to spend more time in NYC.

Broke down in bfe Kentucky when a front wheel bearing/hub assy on my sons Titan shit on me. Tow bill plus repair was 600.

The highlight of the trip for me was renting a 14 mustang to drive for a couple days. Although its a sixxer it's still a pretty decent car.

The scenery in Pennsylvania is pretty damn awesome and the corners in the mountains were pretty fun in the stang

700 pee stops and 3000$ later I'm home

Why did you let your son buy a Titan?

Oh yeah. Did 1000 miles in 24 hours in a 96 mustang gt convertible with luggage and two persons worth of scuba gear. Was in west texas too, so no fucking scenery to be had. Sucks about the break down, never fun.

You know kids never listen. To make things worse, he bought a New York Titan, so everything is starting to rust

Well, first off I was going to say that is nothing, then you said with 3 women in the car. You sir, are a severe masochist to do that to yourself.

I've done 2 Iron Man drives, the first over 1000 miles in one day through the British Columbia and Yukon wilderness by myself on some roads that the word sketchy doesn't even begin to describe. That was from Prince George, BC, to Whitehorse, Yukon.

The second was over 1200 from Tampa, Florida to Arlington. The first was stressful but fun. The second was just a fucking beat down. Started hallucinating at the Texas border and had to pull over and sleep for 20 minutes.

Did Arlington to Vegas non-stop once in 24 hours which is over 1200 miles, but was switching off with a friend for that one. Towing an SVO with a 2.3 Ranger Splash that far was fucking insanity, but we were in our early 20's and could have conquered the world back then.

I imagine he was taking his son's truck back to him.

Not when it exists. You gave no indication that there was even a hint of sarcasm, only that you went TLDR on an already short post.

I've done that drive before, both ways. You sir have my respect! We stopped off at Cooperstown on the way back and didn't make it past Jamestown before pulling over to sleep. Then again at Fort Knox. I'll be heading back in two weeks but flying to Philly this time.

My brother is the most hardcore driver I know though. He took his wife and two of my sisters to Key West from Fort Worth. I can't stand being around any of them for more than an hour, he put up with all 3. I would have jumped out the driver's door around Lake Ray Hubbard.

Drove with my mom from Oklahoma City to Grand Rapids and back in a weekend. Left Saturday morning, was back Sunday night. That was brutal. It's a 1900+ mile round trip.

5077 miles last week (Sunday to Saturday). Arlington to NYC, NYC to Detroit with a stop in Elmira along the way, Detroit to Bantam, CT, Bantam to NYC. 2 days and 24 stops (8 in the outer boroughs, 16 in Manhattan), NYC to Arlington non-stop.

So glad I don't have to do that again......until next week.

My grandfather will drive straight through from Wichita Falls to Fort Wayne, Indiana (a hair over 1,000 miles one way) at least once a year if not more to visit his mother's and my mother's grave site. He's 83 now and still makes that drive without sleeping or stopping to rest. I've gone with him and if it wasn't for my sister and I wanting to sleep after we got there (I paid for the hotel) we would have been driving straight back.

Watertown, NY. That town has improved greatly in the past few years.
