  • Boat Clubs?

Anyone have any experience with these? I haven't called to get an exact price but after reading the website it seems like it would be a good deal. An annual fee of around 4k.

This is the place I'm looking at; it would be on Lewisville.

Join Suntex Boat Club for a hassle-free convenient boating membership that provides a variety of boats in DFW, Georgia, Iowa, Oklahoma, Florida & more!

My only concern is availability. It says you would be able to have 3 revolving reservations on the calendar at a time. With my shift based schedule, being able to make it out on the week days quite frequently might make it worth it.

    What is ya'lls take?

Payments, insurance, maintenance, slip fees and miscellaneous will cost more than 4K a year

I pay around $400 a year for insurance. Public boat ramps are free and have a 5-year warranty for manx.

Not everyone has the means to transport a boat to and from the lake.

Then I'd be spending $400 more a month in just fuel alone.

If you are going to buy a really nice boat, a boat club is a good deal. The one my brother is a member of has a party barge that would cost $70k+ new, and several wake boats that would be well over $50k.

It is the best way to boat for many. The saying if it floats, flies, or fucks rings true.

Payment, insurance, yearly maintenance, repairs, personal property tax, and a biggie for a lot of people, storage. If you don't have a place to keep it and a vehicle to tow it, you've just added a lot of money for covered on the water storage.

The only way I'd own a boat is if I owned a house on the lake with boat house.

Having owned boats in the past, id only own again if I had a place on the water. Everything adds up, every time I went to fill up was $250 easy

Gear, gas, Maintenance, payments, repairs, storage, upkeep, unknowns like a stump that takes out a prop or lower unit, etc all adds up.

I like my setup now, find a friend with a boat, cover his gas and beer and let him have the headaches
