In a theater of war, we are expected to control our fire better.

Funnily enough, if an enemy combatant drops his weapon and tries to flee, we are no longer allowed to shoot him. That doesn't apply to American citizens somehow.

Well said. An insurgents shoots at you, empties his weapon and drops it, you can't drop him. ROE. I wouldn't expect someone who never saw combat to understand that and that soldiers in war are far more restricted than cops here are.

I think the cyclic rate is around 800 rounds per minute, I had 4 drums and a combat load of M4 mags so 1,010 rounds on me. Rounds go quickly when you're on auto and so is your weapon

Obviously. I mean rules of engagement in a war zone as opposed to rules that apply to cops in the CONUS are beyond some people and the punishment for dumping two magazines into a car with the equivalent of 7 fire teams without regard to citizen safety, where those rounds go or even the location of your own people so that you don't kill them, completely beside the point. I mean, who cares if there's several hundred rounds fired at 2 people in an enclosed car that is stopped that results in destruction of private property that sends children diving for cover in homes where kids are getting ready for school, infants are in their cribs and is so overdone that even SRT can't get to the location because everyone had to get their gun off.
