  • Ticket for driving w/o corrective lenses

Is this considered a moving violation? As in "Can add points to your license"?

  • #2
I was cited for doing just that, along with exceeding the posted speed limit, in the fine city of Lott, TX.

The municipal police officer had apparently never encountered "contact lenses" before...

I had a big argument with a cop that was going overboard hassling me one night about my contact lenses before I got Lasik. Finally I told him to get his fucking flashlight out of my eye, reached up and popped one of them out and showed it to him.

This is actually reminding me that my wife needs to redo her license now that she has had Lasik. Cause how are you gonna prove that on the side of the road?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

They give you a deal to keep in your car after the procedure.

I don't understand your question. You get Lasik, the Lasik clinic gives you a form to keep in your car so you have some time before getting your license changed that says you've had the procedure. I'm sure a cop could still ticket you if he wanted to be a cocksucker about it, but it would get a dismissal fee at worse when you took it to the court.

As I recall, it wasn't a moving violation... but it was al most 20 yrs ago when I got one.

I had gone to pick up a friend who had a flat and no spare(speakerbox in place of the spare). I am pulling away from his vehicle and joining traffic. Trooper pulls me over because my buddy was in the process of clicking his seatbelt. From across the truck he asks me where my glasses are. I tried to call his bluff by saying I was wearing contacts(I wasn't). He comes around and looks real hard at my eyes and doesn't see the line - I get a corrective lens ticket and my buddy got a seatbelt ticket.

At the time, my eyes weren't bad enough to need glasses all the time.
                        .

Wow, I have never met anyone who has actually gotten a ticket for that. I wore glasses most of my life until I got Lasik, and I think it was 6 months or a year later until I got my DL updated. Even when I had contacts I was never asked about it. I don't even know anyone who has had a cop ask them if they had contacts on to drive with.
I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

Sex with an Asian woman is great, but 30 minutes later you're horny again.

Yeah, I was kinda pissed about it. The trooper wore glasses and said something along the lines of "I know I can't see well enough to drive without my glasses. so I'l be back with your tickets"

The guy had a reputation of being a prick. I had to bite my tongue to stop from asking if he had ever heard of different prescriptions.

This was a highway patrol. From what I hear their entire revenue comes from citations. I did not get the ticket. My GF did. I had the Lazik about 10 years ago, so I am good.

Does anyone know if you get points on your license for this offense? I googled till I can't see straight and still don't know.
