    That shouldn't mean shit honestly.

    They let almost anyone into the program I was in, board pass rate was still pretty high. The difficulty weeds them out and makes the school money in the process. Colleges are all about money these days, more students, more money.

    It isn't law school or business grad school. I worked with a girl with a $70k degree. We made the same money, only difference was she paid $45k more to do it.

    For the OP, find a cheap school with a high board pass rate. It is a good low stress job, pays well, pretty secure. Everything you learn in school is just to take one test after graduation. You really learn everything you really need to know after school, that is the fun part.

        Since I'm in the education phase, I'm not making anything.

            When I got in 5 years ago 450 people applied for 50 spots.. I know many people who have struggled to get in and a couple that never did.

              Program I went to was a little bigger than that. I think started in the 70's, added a few along the way, graduated around 5x something. I think they are almost up to 100 students now.

              I graduated in 05, only worked as RN nine months, though I maintain an active license.

              I reckon Arkansas is a little different than Texas in regards of difficulty of entry. I didn't even have a 3.0 GPA.

                I had a 3.9 and got in.. The local community college based programs are usually 3.8 and above. That is places like West Coast University are popping up for people willing to pay 50k for their degree and can't get I to a cheaper program..

                  Man, that shit is crazy. I'll have to see if thats going on where I'm from. There are a lot of people that do LPN to RN. Those programs are really easy to get into. I also imagine PA programs get a lot of the people with a 4 yr looking at career change into med field.

                  I think I had a 2.8, lol. I did have a A in every science, that shit wasn't boring. I never worried with grades, but the cut off for a C in RN classes was a 78, that sucked, I knew the effort required and studied up to that approximate point.

                    My wife is an RN with a BSN. She makes a lot of money, but the here is the downside, work for 12-14 hours a days and feel like crap on your off days. You have to work holidays. When it is icy and snowy, and other people say "fuck that, I am staying in bed" you have to some how make it to work. Sick people and people wrecking on the ice are counting on you to get to work.

                    Sick people complain a lot and want you to be their servant. They want a pill because their legs or back hurt and when you comment that their legs/backs probably wouldn't hurt if they lost 200 - 300 pounds they get mad.
                    class joke

                    private:
                    char Forrest, Jenny, Momma, LtDan;
                    double Peas, Carrots;
                    string MommaAlwaysSaid(const bool AddAnyTime = True)
                    };

                      If you're looking for a line of work which requires little education has zero stress, big money, and lots of family time then may I suggest manufacturing? Ok maybe a little stress but that's it I swear.

                          I'm in manufacturing and distributing and I disagree. I'm working around 80 hours a week. Self employment is nice though. I went into nursing program with end goal of being self employed practitioner

                              I can't speak to nursing, but I decided to make the career change and all that it entailed (a whole lot) at 30 and am very happy I did. Think it through thoroughly then go for it.

                              You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

                                I know my niece tried for several years to get in on UTAs program. They have 100-120 slots open and well over 1200 applications every year. Then 90% of the ones accepted are part of a partnership program with local hospitals. So with no work experience and all other things equal less than 10% of the at large applicants get accepted.
