  • Possible career change?

Have been thinking of a career change and been looking into the medical field, mostly been looking into the Nursing program so if anyone here works as a Nurse I have some questions.

    Thanks!

I did, due to cost, time and work. Literally quit before I ever started. But part of the reason I'm back in Texas (for the time being).

My niece did two contracts as a NICU nurse before switching over to a school district. The pay is pretty good unless you divide it by hours worked/lost sleep. In her job she mostly got to care for premature and neglected meth/crack babies. You know, things that really brighten up your day.

If it's something you really want to do it's very difficult to get into a program and it's even more difficult to stay. I'd recommend looking at some military options, Baylor has a great program in San Antonio with the Army and Air Force.

When did nursing school become hard to get into? I walked into it, they handed me some info, bam, in the school of nursing. I think I had to write a single page paper on the reason I wanted to be a nurse. I didn't say three day work weeks and bitches.

Depends on the school...as well as your sex, race, test scores, second languages...etc.
