What are you looking to spend? The Lincoln tombstone welder posted above is decent for the money and have been around forever. The cheaper version is the AC only machine, but if you have the money I would get one that does DC, AC is awful (unless applicable)

I use my stick welder on DC as well, much cleaner welds.

For not much more something like this is an option. It had pretty good reviews on Yellow Bullit a few months back. I bought one but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

No miller, no lincoln, no care I've owned and welded with many welding machines and the brand names have always been the best to me. Another great thing for the OP to consider is that you can dry tig off any DC welder.

Hobart is the Toyota to Miller's Lexus. I have two Hobart migs and a Hobart Plasma, all are solid machines built with Miller parts.

I have welded with a few Lincolns and hated them. Was hard to get consistent results out of them....

When I say brand names I'm referring to Hobart, ESAB, Miller, Lincon, Thermal Arc, Thermaldyne, etc. Just not the bright and shiny chinese crap
