How to deal with Mosquitos?

IDK what the hell subspecies of mosquitoes is out right now but the fuckers are relentless and don't wait for dusk. They were camping out by my citronella candle and my previously beloved fogger has had minimal impact.

Mosquito = state bird of Louisiana. I hate the fuckers. Seems like they will fly over 100 people to bite my ass. South Louisiana is the worst. Having grown up there, nothing works 100%. Some remedies are better for some people than others. You just have to find what works better for you. I hate sprays, but they work for me if they have deet.

I am using some cutter lemon eucalyptus spray and those little fuckers wont come anywhere near me. It's deet free and effective.

today i bought a bug zapper and a box fan and strategically placed them. also doused the area and garage down with the fogger beforehand managed to work on my car for about 4 hrs without dying.

Yeah good ceiling fans work pretty well..

I have a pretty good fan I bring out to keep a breeze going under the canopy I set up for get togethers. As mentioned they arent strong flyers. Hell a good ceiling fan on the porch on high dose a,good job of it. That paired with off and we never have problems.

Chiggers on the other hand. Holy hell I've been attacked in my yard this year. It's fucking on! I've sprayed an acre TWICE now, it's time for plan B.

We can't use any kind of chemical in our back yard to get rid of mosquitos because of our Tortoise that has free reign and eats the grass. We get about 20 bags of Cedar mulch and pretty much cover as much of the yard we can and then I mow over it to shred it up. It will keep the mosquitos away for a few months before we have to reapply. They don't like the Cedar smell so they stay away.
