As far as I know, switchblades and spring assisted knives are different.

you would be correct... a "switchblade", commonly referred to in the industry as an automatic, opens with the press of a button

an assisted knife, requires manually manipulating the blade. they can open just as quickly as an auto, which makes the laws against autos silly.

you have a subsect of autos which are OTF or "out the front" which are a different ballgame and obviously way more rad

I have a nice Benchmade OTF, but I don't carry it because it is double edged. Buddy of mine had his ground to a single sided blade, but I'd sooner just buy a different knife

That is what this guy thought till he had to pull this out of his calf. He wasn't so attached to it even after we cleaned the blood off

Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I've got this one that I like, I think I gave 155 for it OTD where Yale works. The only issue I've had is I dropped it and it landed funny and broke the belt clip. Got in touch with Benchade and they sent me a new one no questions asked.

Wish I could find one of these, a Spyderco Cithadel.

Unfortunately Spyderco discountinued them and I missed out buying a brand new discounted one. Had a lead on a used one but never heard back from the guy beyond the initial email

So now that this law has been repealed, what's a good knife to look at? Closest I've had to one would be a few different Emerson's and Spyderco's with the Wave feature on it.
