  • 5.0 Mustang magazine

Enthusiast publisher Source Interlink Media is closing its wholesale distribution arm, resulting in thousands of layoffs. On the publishing side, Source Interlink Media announced that it is shuttering 12 publications in the automotive enthusiast niche, with a mostly male audience of readers interested in customizing cars.

"On the publishing side, Source Interlink Media announced that it is shuttering 12 publications in the automotive enthusiast niche, with a mostly male audience of readers interested in customizing cars for performance and appearance. The list of closed titles includes Popular Hot Rodding, Rod & Custom, High Performance Pontiac, Custom Classic Trucks, 4 Wheel Drive & SUV, Mud Life, 5.0 Mustang, Modified Mustangs & Fords, Camaro Performers, GM Hi-Tech, Import Tuner and Honda Tuning."

Does anyone else still read magazines? I do and have (or I guess had) a subscription to 5.0. I think the days of magazines are just about over.

I was at a store the other day and ran by the magazine rack, it was 1/4 the size it used to be, stuffed in a corner.

Up until 5 years ago, there wasn't a shit taken without a magazine. Now I can't recall the last time I even looked at one.

The internet will kill off all printed media eventually.

Maxim is a must read in a full magazine. All others, no care.

Popular Hot Rodding used to be a good magazine, but after I met Johnny Hunkins in-person I pretty much cancelled that one out. The guy is a serious douche.

I just can't bring myself to spend $6+ for a magazine anymore off a newsstand. Dang, "Rod & Custom" is an OLD publication too.

They also killed off Rod & Custom. It was around in one form or another since 1953.

                  Shit.

I get 5.0 and MMFF. I read them when I take a shit or when I'm bored at drill. They make the time go by faster.

With the large availability of tablets, printable media should be out the door.

I keep wondering how long Playboy will hold on. They charge for online content, but the free things you can find just by hitting google destroys playboy.

I was a MM&FF subscriber for almost 20 years til their subs starting costing a pretty penny. I would buy again because I would rather read a magazine than a tablet.

Ive noticed over the past few years that they also skip a month or 2 occasionally and have 2 playmates in one mag. If it wasn't an annual gift I would have cancelled it along time ago.
