    DL renewal and registration denton county

    Just moved to denton county and need to renew my DL and change the address. I also need to register a vehicle. When I was in Tarrant county, I went to Southlake to register vehicles. Can I still goto Southlake even tho I'm in denton county for registration?

    And where in denton county is the least busy for DL renewals? What day and time seems to be best? Thanks...

                    My DL expired so I went to Mckinney DPS off 380 at 4pm on Friday and it was packed with a huge wait. They actually have two queues with one designated for renewals and address changes. I was out by 4:25pm.

                      But can I not still goto Southlake town center to register my vebicle? Or must it be in denton county too.

                          Your car has to be registered in the county you now live in. Thats what I've been told in the past.

                            Go to Gainesville DPS office. I was in and out in 10 minutes for DL renewal when I turned 30.

                              The Denton tax office is pretty quick now for vehicle registrations. The DPS office on the other hand....
