Anyone heard about the layoffs at Alcon?

I know they let a couple hundred people go last month, but I was talking with a guy I know and he said they're doing another round. 6000 positions globally, but I don't know how many here in the local area. He also said they're trying to get rid of all IT staff. I know a couple of guys that work out there but haven't had a chance to chat with them yet. I might be able to this weekend.

Anyone have details on what's going on?

I have a buddy at Alcon, who survived the first round, and he hasn't said anything about more layoffs.

Man, I'm glad I skipped Alcon. I had a chance to work for them but heard the first people on the chopping block were IT.
