Man are you really gonna regret this when he turns out to have been in the Coast Guard and the most war he saw was Bagram Airfield and traffic on Disney.

But no really, good shoot. Too bad he didn't put both in the dirt.

Edit to add: Woowhooo, score one for the Marines. I didn't think we would bounce back from the guy getting arrested in Mexico.

Only cops in NY shoot citizens when they aim at a bad guy? Dorner was in NY?

Judging from the response he had, It was cake to know it wasn't a Coastie. He didn't go for a cooler first.

I've seen LEOs straight out of the academy that couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. The training our forces and LEOs get is familiarity of the weapons system on static targets without stress or pressure. People have got to get over the notion that MIL/LEO are firearm pros after basic.

I agree every person that carries a gun SHOULD get training on how to use it effectively.

We had to learn to fire on each other and against moving targets but shooting under duress comes later though you are put through a live fire where rounds are flying 18" over your head and 1/2 sticks of dynamite are going off in pits around you during basic. It's one of the last things you do. Still, you don't start doing regular force on force with SIM rounds until you get to your unit and then it hurts like a bitch.

Do cops ever do force on force drills where they can get shot?
