Question. Was it the officer's decision who actually showed up to arrest the man? Or did they have an order come down from someone higher up? Could the cops show up and go "Well, this doesn't look like cruel or unusual punishment to me, good job dad."?
I just feel like if I was a cop and got this phone call "there's been a report of cruel child punishment blah blah" and go to the scene and find that happening, I'd just shake the man's hand and walk away.

Yes. I just can't imagine filing a charge on that guy unless he was beating his ass somewhere between walks. So should we file on the schools for making them carry books home? Should have handed him a free weight and told the officers they were cross training.

Good point. I definitely carried at least that much weight in books walking to and from high school every day until I got my first car. Probably Jr High also, and we were just a couple of houses away from the 2 mile mark where you could ride the bus.
You got to mow yards with a riding mower? Fucking cheating!
No shit! Growing up in CA my step-dad used to make me mow with an old push mower. The kind with no motor. Of course, as soon as I moved to WA and he had to start doing it he bought a gas powered mower.
Living in WA with my dad I had to mow over an acre on a hill. At least he had a gas power mower, but still a walk behind. Not even self propelled. It took me about 8 hours on average. And of course, as soon as I left for the Army, he bought a riding mower.. lol
Jesus christ. Im almost 30 and I still do shit when my dad tells me to. I got my ass beat when i screwed up as a kid, but it didnt take me very many swats to figure out not to disrespect my parents wishes.

14 acres, at like 3-5mph and a 30-40inch deck... Haha not to mention the grass was so tall you could only do half the deck at a time to keep it from bogging.
It sucked ass man, that and waking up at 6:00 to weedeat the mile worth of fence... For no reason. We had free range cows.

I never had to use a reel mower, but I feel your pain! lol
Wow. Anyone on here ever operate a yoyo? Basically a hand operated mower/weedeater. That was my punishment. What's funny is I learned really fast how to sharpen with a file throughout the punishment.
"It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"
