I've towed my fair share of pwcs back to the dock.

Best one was a guy working on an old Kawasaki stand up. Towed him back a couple of times that day. Later on he got it up and running again, I see him broke down again and head over to help him out...he swims to the ski platform of my boat and climbs in and say let's go! Left that jet ski right there in the middle of lake arlington.

    • I know wake boarding has been talked about, but if not an absolute requirement another consideration could be a tritoon. Big HP, can do 40+ easily - haul a lot of people/gear...etc. With decked out motors they'll do 50+

My pontoon is my 2nd boat and the only regret I have is not doing the tritoon.

For the cost of a wakeboard boat, you could have a freaky fast party barge with slide and 2nd level deck...etc.

        That's funny as hell.

The dude I bought these off of said that in 2012, the 750 was running bad, and then wouldnt run anymore when they got it back to the dock. It was the end of the season, so they didnt mess with it. Then in 13, the lake house they have on cedar creek didnt have water in their channel they are on, so they didnt mess with them. This year, there are trees sprouting up in the channel and they are selling the house, boats, skis, etc.

Apples and oranges, it all depends on what you want to do most. You can most certainly "party" on a wakeboard boat, tie up in party cove, crank the speakers, and have quite a few people on the open floor plan of the newer v-drives. Conversely, you will never be able to wakeboard behind a pontoon boat or party barge, especially all full up with party people.

Yeah - I was not trying to say one was better than another. However, I think a lot of folks under estimate the flexibility of a pontoon/tritoon.

            • I miss my Baja. My commute now takes me pass all the boat dealerships and lake Lewisville and i've been getting the boat bug too. I think i'd be happy with a $12-15k Pontoon boat though at this point.

They are flexible to a point, and definitely have their place, but a big v-drive will do all that and more. If you've got the scratch you get the Panamera or X6 to haul the kids around, if not you get the family truckster and tell everyone how perfect it is for your needs.

                        • We've been pretty happy with this beast. It's our first boat and so far so good.

                            • If anyone is interested...

A close friend of mine has a garaged 2001 Tige' V-drive wakeboard boat with around 400 hrs (I think) that is in very good condition. His son that wakeboarded is grown and gone and the owner had a knee replaced and back surgery so his wakeboarding days are over. Last nail in the coffin came last week when he sold his lakehouse on Lake Brownwood... If interested PM me and I can give you his contact info.

Your super air was clean. I was impressed when I saw it at buxton.
