Our lakes here are about dried up so I think I'd stick to ETX for now. I drove across Lake Palestine today and it looked high. I saw a few wakeboard boats out too. Let me know if you ever get out to Hubbard.

For the wakeboarders on this site I am always looking for riders. I work out of town a lot during the summer, but if I'm in town I can go out pretty much anytime.
I'm on that forum too, since 07, but haven't been active in years.

I typically start riding in March, but because of the water levels and the cold winter we had, I haven't been motivated. I just drug the boat out and de-winterized it last week. Late last year we hit a stump in a normal riding spot which got the power wedge, prop, strut, rudder, and some hull damage. Needless to say I am very cautious now since the water is down about 3 ft. from where it was.

We bought a small bayliner off CL near the end of last summer since we were unsure if we would use it or not. Paid 1500 since it had been sitting. We buffed it and changed the fluids and were on the lake every weekend until it got too damn cold. Sold that one during the winter for 3k and bought a 26ft Four Winns with a cracked motor. replaced the motor during the winter and took it to ray roberts and lewisville this weekend. we had a blast and still got in it cheap enough that we can enjoy it knowing its not costing us an arm and a leg. I love the fancy boats but can't justify a payment like that for a "toy" ...atleast not while I got all these other expensive hobbies!

I suck at wake boarding, and it frustrates me so much. I stick to slalom. I'm great at it, but I'm not part of the cool crowd on the lake...

...and a word of caution to all you guys that take your chances on these low lakes, it's not just the shoreline and the ramps that are effected...it puts your boat (and you on your board) in closer danger to under water stumps and other debris that normally may not be an issue.

A friend of mine rescued this guy and his son just last weekend after the guy hit something in an area he is normally familiar with. Knocked the prop and shaft right out of the bottom of the boat. They said it was only about 6 minutes until the boat was totally submerged.

                            Shame too....damned nice boat!

The same thing happened to another friend's Welcraft on Lewisville about 3 years go....over near the party cove he hit something that knocked the entire leg off the boat....turns out there's an old picnic area under the water and he caught one of the old concrete picnic tables.

Yeah I've never heard of or seen surfing behind the boat, screw a bunch of that. If I ever want to take up surfing, I'm less than an hour from Galveston and my nephew and ex Brother in law go all the time LOL. No way I would ride the close to the back of the boat, even with a straight inboard. If the boat hits something underwater or stalls out, you're going to be landing on the back of it and maybe breaking a leg.
