Well being that this thing is slammed, the bumper is pretty close to the ground. I heard it hitting a few times this morning, going through the ice. If it gets much deeper, then the bumper will just act like a snow plow lol!

I didn't read the whole thread, but: My first car at 16 was a '64 Karmann Ghia, in Pennsylvania, and it rocked. I never got stuck, it always had traction, and even though it was light, it never drifted too bad.

Do your parents still have that thing?

                  Kinda want one...

Yeah, it's still in the garage. Still ran great when my dad pulled it apart for a brake job several years ago.

I've always wanted one. I was just telling Christian the other day that I want to pick one up for my kids first car.

I can't imagine a better first car. It did two things for me: taught me that you HAVE to respect your vehicles; and taught me that you can neglect those factors of a vehicle that don't pertain to dependability.

I had an old bug when I was 17 and the roads iced over. We lived on LRH in Heath so I had to go up a hill to get out of the 'hood. I couldn't make it, but again, I was a kid and didn't know how to drive on ice at that point...

It's all experience and perspective, man. At this point, I feel I could take any able bodied vehicle through any common obstacle, but only because of where I learned, with the equipment I learned with, and who taught me.

Guy before was right. Light car, with all the weight over the drive wheels works wonders.
what the fuck is a V-Dub? is that some ghetto rap group?
