  • How long has this undercurrent of hatred been brewing ??

It seems the Military and LEO have a ongoing battle brewing of which organization VIOLATES people's civil rights the most.

We have members from each party that go back and forth posting articles from events around the world each time one of their own gets caught abusing their authority.

I always thought LEO's had a certain amount respect for what the Military does.

Just my observation from the outside.......

RENTON, WA — A SWAT team spent hours firing “mortars, grenades, and teargas canisters” at an empty home. The 4-hour siege destroyed windows, doors, and walls and left the home in ruin. The suspect didn’t even live at the address, and the innocent homeowner was left homeless for months and ultimately was

03Trublugt was a marine stationed at Gitmo and is now a cop. I think he appreciates what the military does just fine. Frost can get a bit off his rocker is all.

This should be fun to be answered considering the military is prohibited, by law, from handling American citizens on US soil.

Solution? Rename the country except for DC, pesky laws avoided.

Interesting thought. I did find a loophole however:

The original provision was enacted as Section 15 of chapter 263, of the Acts of the 2nd session of the 45th Congress.

Sec. 15. From and after the passage of this act it shall not be lawful to employ any part of the Army of the United States, as a posse comitatus, or otherwise, for the purpose of executing the laws, except in such cases and under such circumstances as such employment of said force may be expressly authorized by the Constitution or by act of Congress ; and no money appropriated by this act shall be used to pay any of the expenses incurred in the employment of any troops in violation of this section and any person willfully violating the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction thereof shall be punished by fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars or imprisonment not exceeding two years or by both such fine and imprisonment[4]

The text of the relevant legislation is as follows:

18 U.S.C. § 1385. Use of Army and Air Force as posse comitatus

Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

Also notable is the following provision within Title 10 of the United States Code (which concerns generally the organization and regulation of the armed forces and Department of Defense):

10 U.S.C. § 375. Restriction on direct participation by military personnel

The Secretary of Defense shall prescribe such regulations as may be necessary to ensure that any activity (including the provision of any equipment or facility or the assignment or detail of any personnel) under this chapter does not include or permit direct participation by a member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps in a search, seizure, arrest, or other similar activity unless participation in such activity by such member is otherwise authorized by law.

Those neat MRAPS? Illegal as they are equipment from the military to be used in search, seizure and arrest.

He took a bullet to the nose and I do not believe that he has said that there was any physical brain damage. I believe that he has mentioned PTSD issues but that is understandable.

The part that was damaged was my frontal lobe which tends to be the social part. It caused a complete rewrite of my personality as well as causing lesions (like you'd see in someone using acid long term) throughout the soft tissue from the concussive force of a bullet coming to a stop against bone and transferring that energy into the skull, bouncing the brain back and forth. There's also damage to the hypocampus which handles stress response and short term memory.

That's just right off the top of my head. I do have some neat pictures of my brain afterwards that I got from the docs at Lansteul in Germany.
