I am wanting a new set of drivers but don't want to spend an arm and two legs for it. I'm looking at Taylor Mades Jet speed driver, fairway wood and the hybrid. Are these any good? I'd love a set of SLDR's but I'm afraid I'd have to sell a kidney to afford those.

Sounds like you just need to pick up something functional and not what the hottest on the market.
Buy whatever decent deal you find on used clubs until you can hit them all consistently. They don't have to match. My driver, 3 wood, and hybrid are all different brands because I went through a lot if them before I found what I liked.
Check www.golfwrx.com classifieds.

My 3 wood is the xhot 3 deep, that's a bad mf'er...
My dad bought the R1 when it came out and absolutely hated it.

I still use a 2009 Taylormade R9 Superdeep with an X-flex Kai'Li 3-wood shaft from my 2010 R11 3-wood (hated that damn club, loved the shaft though!). I have a Callaway 3deep 3-wood with a Diamana Blueboard shaft and an Adams XTD Ti 3-hybrid with a Fubuki Alpha shaft. Like Ross said, swing some clubs and find the one you really like, brand be damned.
I've had an eye on that new Callaway Bertha driver... I might have to at least swing it in the simulator a few times.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you.
